Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan help rebuild Dallas women's shelter following Texas storm damage

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are lending Texas a helping hand through their nonprofit, the Archewell Foundation.

In a statement to USA TODAY Sunday, Jan Langbein, CEO of Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support in Dallas, which serves women and children who have experienced domestic violence, confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex "will make a donation to help us get back on our feet."

"Not only will this gift provide for our critical needs, it shines an international spotlight on violence against women and children, letting survivors know that they are not alone," Langbein continued.

The shelter also thanked the foundation for its help on Twitter Sunday.

"Today the news of our damages reached Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex!" the shelter tweeted. "Through their nonprofit, they are supporting us by replacing the roof at our transitional housing facility & helping us meet our immediate needs. THANK YOU, ARCHEWELL FOUNDATION!"

The group's emergency shelter and transitional housing were forced to completely shut down due to burst pipes and power loss from the Texas winter storms, they shared in a tweet last week with a photo of some of the damage.

Other famous faces are also helping Texas.

Reese Witherspoon spread the word about the severity of the situation, encouraging others to donate.

"Over 4 million homes are without power in Texas. These families need our attention," she tweeted Thursday to her 2.9 million followers. "Sharing some resources of organizations helping the community. Please join me in supporting if you’re able," she wrote, tagging Feed the People Dallas Mutual Aid, Mutual Aid Houston and more charities.

On Friday, Mutual Aid Houston thanked everyone for the support.

"Tonight, we were able to distribute over $20,000 directly to Houstonians for immediate needs like food and water due to this freeze," a statement posted to Twitter read. "We will be working tirelessly to get this relief out to folks who need it as soon as possible."

The organization also directly thanked Solange Knowles a day prior for her contribution.

"We are so grateful to @solangeknowles for her significant donation to our post-freeze housing relief efforts. The Houston love is REAL," their statement read.

Knowles responded, "sending so much love back home... and im committed to doing more...my heart breaks man... thank you for all the endless work u guys are doing on the ground."
